JDF Plumbing & Drainage teamed up with Ziggy & Zephyr to recently complete a driveway drainage upgrade for a residential property in Delaney’s Creek, focused on resolving ongoing surface water issues during heavy rainfall.

The existing drainage system was undersized and unable to adequately handle peak stormwater flows, resulting in water pooling across the driveway and flowing toward the property. Our solution involved increasing the stormwater pipe size to significantly improve drainage capacity and performance.

Improving Stormwater Flow with Pipe Upsizing

Effective drainage starts with correctly sized infrastructure. In this project, our team assessed the existing setup and identified that the original pipework was restricting flow during high rainfall events.

To rectify this, we completed a full pipe upsizing upgrade, allowing water to move more efficiently through the system and away from the property.

Key works included:

• Removal of undersized stormwater pipework
• Installation of larger diameter drainage pipes to increase capacity
• Regrading and reconnection to existing stormwater discharge
• Testing to ensure efficient flow during peak conditions
• Use of durable, high-quality materials for long-term reliability

By increasing the pipe size, the system can now handle higher volumes of runoff, reducing the risk of ponding, erosion, and water ingress near the home.
